Spring is upon us (at least calendar-wise) and Great American Insurance Group would like to invite you to their spring webinar. On April 25th 1PM (Eastern) Great American Insurance Group is hosting Kent Holland of ConstructionRisk LLC to present “Managing Design Professional Risks from: BIM/Electronic Documentation, Design-Build, Site Safety and Ownership & Copyright. During the 1 hour course, he will review recent court decisions and address tips for managing some key risks arising out of BIM, design-build, jobsite safety and transfer of ownership and copyrights to Instruments of Service. This is an AIA Registered Course and upon completion, 1 hour of Continuing Education will be reported to the AIA and for non-AIA members certificates of completion are available on request.

J. Kent Holland is a construction lawyer located in Tysons Corner, Virginia, with a national practice representing design professionals, contractors and project owners. He is principal of ConstructionRisk, LLC, providing insurance risk management services and construction risk management services including, but not limited to, advice to insurance underwriters; guidance to those procuring insurance; change order and claim preparation, analysis and defense; contract preparation; contract review and contract negotiation. Kent is also the publisher of the monthly ConstructionRisk.com Report

Learning Objectives:

1) Learn ideas for using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to manage and reduce project risks;

2) From recent court decisions learn about risks arising out design-build projects and tips for managing risks;

3) Become familiar with designer’s jobsite safety responsibilities and how to manage risks in the contract and the field;

4) Learn how to protect the designer’s ownership and copyright interests in Instruments of Service, and how to manage the risk if the copyright is transferred to the client.
